GRASSROOT MUSIC STUDIO POLICY
SCHEDULE: Monthly tuition reserves a weekly time slot in the studio. Lessons are 30 minutes (unless otherwise noted). Please plan to arrive a few minutes early & be ready to enter the studio. The last few minutes of lessons the instructor will chat with parents and answer questions, wipe down any equipment used & open the door for the next group. Please refer to current studio calendar for breaks. The commitment for each student is for a full session of 15 weeks: FALL: August - December / SPRING: January - May. Summer is 6 weeks: June & July. Each session averages 3 lessons/month.
TUITION: Session can be paid in full or by monthly flat-rate tuition. Tuition is due by automatic payment the first of each month and includes 30 lessons (including 2 flex weeks) from August-May & a 6 week summer session. Accounts not paid by the 10th will incur a $20 late fee. If an account is not paid by the 15th of the month, there will be no lessons until payment is made. Any lessons missed during this time are forfeited.
MISSED LESSONS: Private students are allowed one make-up per session when it fits within the instructor's schedule. Please request to schedule this before the session ends. If you need to cancel a lesson for sickness or vacation please do so as soon as possible.
SICKNESS- If anyone in your home has had a fever or vomiting within 48 hours of your lesson, you must not attend your lesson. Private lessons will meet online via Zoom.
NO SHOWS- Are not eligible for a make up.
INSTRUCTOR CANCEL- There is one flex week built into each 15 week session in case of an instructor's cancellation. This covers emergency, illness, gig, show prep or another conflict. If the instructor must cancel a 2nd time, your lesson will be made up at their discretion with a with pre-recorded video lesson or a group lesson at an assigned time.
TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGES- If there are glitches during your lesson that cannot be resolved, we will complete the lesson via video messages & feedback. You will need to video yourself singing or playing & your teacher will send feedback via text or email. In the unlikely event that this happens more than once, we will reschedule for another time.
*There are no make-ups for Group lessons.
MATERIALS: Each student should have lesson books, a pencil & a notebook.
REGISTRATION FEE: Yearly registration is $50 per student paid at sign up & renewed each August.
DISCONTINUATION OF LESSONS: Private and Group lessons: Your commitment is for the full session. Regular groups run 15 weeks: FALL: August - December / SPRING: January - May. SUMMER session is 6 weeks. Beginner groups & special sessions run in 5, 8, or 10 week increments with same commitment. For the full session, you are committing to show up, practice & pay for the entire session. If you plan to discontinue between terms, let us know by the 15th of November or April otherwise, lessons continue as normal.
GROUP LESSONS: If for some reason your group quits before you do, we will honor the group tuition price through the end of the session. After that session, we will do our best to find you a similar group.
THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR CLASSES OR LESSONS
STUDIO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO:
- cancel lessons at any time for students who do not adhere to this policy.
- take photographs, videos, and/or recordings of me or my child during lessons, recitals, or other events for archival purposes and for promotional use.
BY AGREEING TO THIS POLICY:
- I understand and agree that by participating in any class, workshop, event, lesson, rehearsal or performance, there is the risk of injury. I voluntarily agree to assume all risks and responsibility for any such injury or accident or illness which might occur to me or my family members during any of the Grassroots Music Studio, LLC. classes, workshops, events, lessons, rehearsals, or performances. I also voluntarily agree to waive my rights and the rights of my heirs, to hold Grassroots Music Studio, LLC., its owners, teachers, volunteers, and assistants, employees, and/or students, liable for damage, loss, injury or death due to the ordinary negligence which may arise out of or in connection with participating in any classes or activities or events conducted by Grassroots Music Studio, LLC.
Acknowledgment of Risk and Assumption of Personal Responsibility
You acknowledge that Grassroots Music Studio may involve unknown and/or unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury or damage to your child, or to third parties. You understand by enrolling you and/or your child in any Grassroots Music Studio program, you accept and assume the risk existing in that Program, and any activities occurring during such program and elect to do so in spite of possible risks, known or unknown.
Indemnification
1. Grassroots Music Studio makes every effort to conduct safe programs, to orient and support guests, and to inform participants of safety precautions. I understand that program activities may include, but are not limited to: walking, loud noises, instruments, etc.
2. You agree to release, waive, discharge, defend, indemnify, and hold the Grassroots Music Studio, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, employees, agents, representatives, attendees and other third parties harmless from all liabilities, losses, personal injuries, damages, costs, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) on account of any claim, suit, action, demand, or proceeding made or brought against any such party, or on account of the investigation, defense, or settlement thereof, arising in connection with your enrollment in this Grassroots Music Program.
STUDIO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO:

- take photographs, videos, and/or recordings of me or my child during lessons, recitals, or other events for archival purposes and for promotional use. For privacy, names and/or locations are never used on photos and videos.
